Kim made mom's meatloaf last night with success. We also whipped up some mash potatoes and green beans. We had some friends over, Melody, Dennis, Kelsey and Sam (as part of the tasting committee.) Learned a cool trick from Alton Brown, when making your mash potatoes, take 3-6 cloves of crushed garlic and simmer in 2 cups of half and half, then pour over you potatoes… yum yum. Sam brought over a couple of growlers from the brewery and melody brought her famous sundried tomato cheese bread… Later we had apple pie and ice cream. After all was said and done we received text from the Schnieders that read, “got a good fire going” so we all packed up and headed down to the bon fire… it is staying light until 9-9:30 and we are enjoying every minute of it.
