eric's birthday

Natalia didn't catch a fish.

It was Eric's birthday. Enjoying stories and "Sarah Pale-Ale" made by a local brewer.

the girls comming back from a stroll

cool sweatshirts and campfire smoke... what its all about.

the Scheinider girls whipping around of 4wheelers... Natalia is only 6, imagine having your own 4wheeler at that age and getting to explore on it.

books

this one is pretty good. walter mosley is a real writer that for some reason likes to dip into crime novels (that is where he makes money peddeling pulp)for some reason i am loving these tough guy private detective novels... easy reads, a good mystery and an underdog hero.

this book is stupid. chuck palahniuk is good if you are between the ages of 15-22 but after that you sort of see through his teenage angst and lack of ability. this one is told from the point of view of a terrorist sleeper cell memeber (from china) and of course has a lot of jabs making fun of americans, our mini vans, our fatness and reality tv shows. there is potential here, except palahniuk is lazy and writes the story in some broken english dialog that reads like this. "Location former chew gum, chocolate snack, salted chips of potato, current now occupy with cylinder which paraffin encase burning string, many tiny single fire."
sounds like a retard is telling the story... this "agent" apperently knows words like "cylinder" and "paraffin" but is unable to string them together in a sentence.

my blurry hotel room

My class, notice the old school monitor.

Lake Hood is the largest seaplane hub in the world... every nook and cranny has a plane, some people decorate their little parking spots... it is all magical to the eye.

this was the view out of my hotel window...

the hotel I stayed in while traveling for work. It was nice and right on the lake.

summer in kodiak?

Lately Kim and I have been doing some dine and dash style barbecues… since it is summer we have all our fishing and camping gear loaded into retractable tub-containers. With a small little propane barbecue we prep the food at home, pick a new place every night to barbecue and enjoy the views. It beats barbecuing on our deck and is just as easy.

here you can see the set up.

Capri Salad. tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh basil, olive oil with a dash of salt and peper equals yum!

Reminds me of the San Juans

Good views

Down by the docks, it was almost 80 degress so we went out for some ice cream

Kim picking up our organic farms package. Fresh veggies and fruits!

Books: gangbusters, bank robbers, hurricanes and whores

Halfway through this book, it is awesome so far. It starts out in Australia detailing a life of crime... a large tale with even larger charecters.

This book is on deck, it is Eggers new book detailing the life a a Syrian man and his family in the wake of hurricane Katrina.

About a hundred pages into this book. The Pulitzer Prize winning author crafts an alternate universe in which the Jews are forced from Israel in 1948 and form their own state in Sitka, Alaska… pretty wild! It is one of the gritty cop novels that I have been losing myself in more and more.
